Adults' group lessons
Small groups at every level, every week
'Each of our instructors was excellent and very kind, patient and professional'
Jane, 2010-11 season
When you book ski lessons with us, you can be confident of skiing in a small group, and you can be sure that your lessons will be perfectly pitched for your confidence and ability.
We run a wide range of adult ski lessons each week in La Plagne and Val d'Isère, and the descriptions below will help you to choose the class that suits you. If you're not sure, give us a call or drop us an email, and we can help you decide. If you're still not sure, don't worry! Your instructor will assess your skiing on the first day of your course, and will make sure that you are in the group that's best for you. Once you've chosen your level, see the links at the bottom of the page for timetables and price lists for each resort.
- Discovery
The class for absolute beginners. You'll start by learning to put your skis and boots on, and by the end of the week you'll be skiing down green runs and easy blues, with simple linked turns. You'll learn to use a drag lift, to control your speed, and to stop.
- Level 1 (green and easy blue runs)
If you have a less than a week's skiing experience, this is the course for you. You'll learn to control your turns on easy blue runs, and you'll move on to learn basic parallel turns. In La Plagne, Level 1 is the ideal course for anyone who needs to regain lost confidence. If you need a confidence boost in Val d'Isère, try our Scaredy Cat clinic (3 afternoons only)
- Level 2 (blue runs)
If you have between two and four weeks' experience, you're likely to be Level 2. In this class you'll grow in confidence, fine tuning your parallel turning and working on your style. By the end of the week, you'll have improved your skiing technique and grown in agility and fluidity on the slope.
- Level 3 (blue and red runs)
Choose Level 3 if you're already making parallel turns, and you can control your speed on blue runs. In this class, you'll start to master red runs, and to perfect your parallels on blues. You'll start to learn 'carving' turns.
- Level 4 (red and black runs)
If you're skiing with confidence and control and using parallel turns on red runs, choose level 4. You'll start to learn to make short turns, and to practise bumps. You'll learn to control your speed on steep descents, and - snow/weather conditions permitting - you'll start to ski off piste.
- Steep & Deep (5 mornings only)
If you're confident on all pistes, and can control your speed on even the steepest of black runs, choose Steep & Deep to fine tune your technique on powder snow, steep slopes and off piste. Off piste safety equipment is compulsory, and is included in your course fee (arva, shovel, probe and rucksack). Please note that Steep & Deep classes may be dependent on appropriate snow and weather conditions.
